Seán Finn and the Late Bloomers invite you to an evening full of jazzy grooves, endearing showmanship and heartfelt performances. Taking place upstairs in Whelan’s, the group celebrate the beginning of their Irish tour. Showcasing music from their forthcoming project and beyond, the Late Bloomers will whisk you away for the night.
Helmed by the crooning front man Seán Finn, the group are known for their vibrant musicality and quirky stage antics. With the material written by Seán himself, he is known for his heartfelt performances and warm stage persona. The rhythm section is held together by a tight-knit duo of Ben Cofrield on kit and Schindler Brown on bass. With a flare for funk, the duo keep things lively throughout the night. Finally, multi-instrumentalist Lawrence Penman decorates the compositions with delicate guitar lines and funky piano. Together, the Late Bloomers offer a performance that you won’t forget any time soon.
Supporting the group for the night are Dublin based trio Left Iris and Galway guitarist Colm Brennan. Left Iris are an Irish/Spanish trio blending elements of shoegaze, alternative rock and electronica. The results are singable, melodic tunes wrapped in layers of guitars, harmonies and synthesisers. Colm Brennan is known for his involvement in the Rock’n’Roll group Ol’ Times, but he is also a songwriter in his own right. Colm will open the evening with a few soulful ballads and a demonstration of his intricate guitar work.
